### How I came about Duolingo?

Four of us iOS Developers planned to attend try! Swift Tokyo event in 2017, so we all prepared by learning Japanese together for fun.

### Duolingo with colleagues

I gave a talk title "How Duolingo Helps Me Learn Japanese" in a Barcamp event (2018.11.07) in our company. Surprisingly, a few language enthusiast colleagues started and even maintaining a longer streak than me now! And, yes, most of them learns Japanese.

### Becoming an Duolingo Event organiser

I often visit Kinokuniya book store in Takashimaya to check out what are the learning materials available. One day, I was curious if there's a study-together group and surprisingly, there is one consistent group for Spanish learners! However, none for Japanese. So, I reached out and held one get together just before Covid19 brought Singapore to a total lockdown.
